Siamo felici di presentare questa bella Schubertiade lucchese. In origine le Schubertiadi nascono come momenti di incontro fra Schubert ed una ristretta cerchia di amici e conoscenti, che si riunivano a Vienna per suonare e conoscere la musica del grande compositore. Adesso che Schubert è universalmente riconosciuto come uno degli autori più rilevanti della storia della musica, questa occasione diventa un momento di incontro fra musicisti di assoluto rilievo per rinnovare la felice poesia di questa musica eterna.
«Il più grande poeta in musica che sia mai esistito»: così Liszt definì Schubert. Giudizio condiviso da tutti, perfino da uno spirito caustico e tagliente come Nietzsche che ebbe parole di ammirazione per questo artista, fino a pronunciare la seguente frase che può essere sottoscritta da tutti: «Schubert ebbe, rispetto agli altri maestri, la maggiore ‘ricchezza ereditaria’ musicale. Egli la elargì a piene mani con cuore buono; ed i musicisti ancora per qualche secolo avranno da nutrirsi dei suoi pensieri e delle sue idee. Nelle sue opere abbiamo un tesoro di trovate non messe a frutto; altri troveranno la loro grandezza, sfruttandole».

We’re glad to present this beautiful Lucchese Schubertiade. Schubertiads originally was rendez-vous between Schubert and a small group of friends and acquaintances who gathered in Vienna to discover, and play, the music of the great composer.
Today Schubert is universally recognized as one of the most relevant authors in the history of music, so the Shubertiads become celebrations between the most relevant musicians to renew the joyful poetry of this eternal music.
«The greatest poet in music who ever lived»: this is what Liszt called Schubert. Judgment shared by all, even by a caustic and sharp spirit like Nietzsche, who had words of admiration for this artist, until the following sentence that can be universally subscribed: «Schubert … possessed the greatest ‘inherited wealth’ of music… He squandered it with liberal generosity so that composers will have his ideas and inspirations to feast on for another couple of centuries. In his works we have a treasury of unemployed inventions; others will find their greatness in employing them».
